About Jyan Isaac Bread
In 2020, Jyan Isaac, a member of the bread team at artisanal bakery Gjusta, lost his job along with so many other restaurant workers around the world. Feeling adrift, 19-year-old Jyan began baking sourdough loaves out of his familyβs kitchen, selling them to neighbors. The response was extraordinary. Soon Jyan was baking 250 sourdough loaves a week out of a shuttered pizza joint in Santa Monica, hand delivering them to his Instagram devotees. An LA Times Food Section feature followed, and by the beginning of 2022, Jyan was baking 5000 loaves and bagels a week to fulfill demand. Jyan Isaac Bread was named in Food & Wine magazineβs January 2022 feature The Best Bread in Every State as one of the top 5 bread bakeries in California.

I canβt say enough about this place Iβm in love. Josue the manager was very attentive and customer service orientation is by far the best Iβve experienced. I canβt wait to bring my family back and enjoy more of this delicious healthy and organic bread and delicious meals. The team is very beautifully humble and welcoming. I wish this was the norm. Thank you to the team and Josue we will be back and recommending everyone here .

My friend and I dined here for Sunday brunch. We paid for our order at the counter and tipped well for full service. We wanted to compare Layla Bagels vs. Jyan Isaac. We had high hopes for Jyan Isaac and actually thought they would win out. However, we were treated poorly by staff because we brought over two bagels from Layla to try side by side with Jyan Isaacβs bagels. The bus boy didnβt want to serve us water and told us to get it ourselves when he begrudgingly brought it over, even though other tables had been brought water right in front of us. We were very cordial and did not leave trash and cleaned up after ourselves even though we literally paid almost $60 to eat here and tipped full service for a pastry and 1.5 bagels. Their bagels are no where even near as good as Laylaβs. Itβs like eating a slice of toasted bread. There is no chew and it disintegrates in your mouth like cardboard or a grocery store bagel. The ambiance here is nice and I really wanted to come back and revisit, but after our treatment I am disgusted. The staff walked out and looked at us like we were criminals and cockroaches. However, the one guy at the register who took our order was exceptional and sup

It was good & tasty. Would be better to put 1 big slice tomato, in order to make it comfortable to eat instead of three small. And maybe better to add less oil , I would love to have more flavor in my bagel .

Love. Hard not to compare this to their next-door neighbors, Layla. I do love that they have a bagel called βthe Laylaβ. Love the food and the vibes, easier to get seating on a weekday, but the weekend is doable with a little wait. The food absolutely slaps. Limited coffee/matcha selection, but coffee is good! The bread is really where itβs at, this place is all about bread. Itβs a cool vibe to pick up bread to take home. Great selection here.

We were on a trip to LA and visiting this area. This place is absolutely rocking. Having access to Bagels in NYCyou are spoilt for choice and skeptical about trying it on the west coast! They do a fab job! The bagel is huge! You could share it with a party of two and get other bites on the menu! We got poppy seed, scallion cream cheese tomato bagel. They had sprinkled lemon salt on top? Yummy!! The cream cheese was not too light, not too heavy. The bagel was the right amount of chewy & crunchy on the outside. Got the Banana bread and oatmeal cookie as well. Both of them were large in size and delicious. The banana bread wasn't crazy sweet. We saved some for dessert to have later in the day. The capucinno was good as well. I am glad to have picked this place. There was plenty parking on a Friday morning.
